Leap On Litters is a HUGE SUCCESS In January of this year Linda Bamfield {The Medical Committee Lead, a Founding Member, and member of the Logan’s Run Rescue Board of Directors (BOD)} came to the other BOD members with an idea on how to reduce unwanted animals in our community. For those of you that don't know Linda, she is a Registered Nurse and has been helping save animals in our community for the last 7 years. Each year she has seen the Spring bring a ton of unwanted litters. So she came up with an idea to get a jump on preventing this by having Logan's Run Rescue (LRR)sponsor Leap On Litters program. This program significantly motivates pet owners to get their animals spayed or neutered by offering them a very low cost, only $20 with LRR subsidizing the rest. The key strength of the program was to try to solve the problem before it begins. The BOD loved her idea and voted to implement it. What a HUGE Success! The Leap On Litters program was arecord breaker. Between Valentine's Day 2/14 and leap year 2/29 Logan'sRun passed out 113 vouchers for this program. Plus, since those interested had to come to our Thrift Store to get their vouchers, many of them did some shopping and were encouraged by our great Thrift Store volunteers to think of us when they do their spring cleaning...and have things to donate.
