Low Cost Spay-Neuter Program
The LOCO Program provides spay and neuter prices
to the general public at the same low cost our
organization pays for rescued, abandoned animals.
We understand that during hard economic times,
some people may need help with the LOCO Prices.
LRR's Members established a LOCO-Subsidized
Spay-Neuter Program to help lower these costs. This
program provides a subsidy to lower the LOCO cost of
a Cat or Dog spay/neuter.
LRR is grateful to be the recipient of two companion animal spay-neuter grants. These grants are to be used in our public outreach program to provide spay neuter assistance for companion dogs belonging to individuals who require financial assistance. One grant targets large dogs, 40 lbs and over. The other grant targets small dogs and puppies, 39 lbs and under. Each applicant is asked to make a donation towards the cost of the surgery. However, a donation WILL NOT be required to participate in this program.
PEPOP...it's a funny word but it helps control a serious problem - pet over-population. Un-spayed and un-neutered dogs are producing litters of puppies.
This is the main reason we have pet over population in our area. LRR has developed a program that can have a great impact on this problem... PEPOP. Dog Owners who have a litter of puppies can give the litter to LRR, where they will be fixed and adopted into wonderful homes that can afford to care
for them. Dog Owners who wish to take advantage of the
PEPOP Program must agree to allow LRR to spay neuter ALL of the reproducing male and female dogs in the household - FREE OF CHARGE. PEPOP is
a win-win program for the owners, the family pets and the puppies. This program decreases accidental litters, finds homes for the puppies and reduces the population of unwanted animals.
